SAVE THESE DATES:

RADIOGRAPH REPOSITORY:
Select Sale only!
A Radiograph repository will be
available for viewing of the Sale horses. The radiographs must be
taken within three weeks of the date the yearling will be sold and
must be DICOM compliant. The Radiographs need to be submitted to
Ky Carter at Asteris by August 24 ( ky@asteris.biz ). It is
recommended that a copy of the animal’s Registration Paper be
submitted to the veterinarian completing the Radiograph.
Advantages:
It will not be necessary to tranquilize an animal at sale time in
order to complete film-type x-rays creating stress on the animals
and delays in buyer decision making. More views are available using
Radiographs vs. standard x-rays at a considerably lower cost. The
more reliable the information available to buyers in evaluating the
animal, the more confidence they will have in their ability to make
the proper choices in choosing possible purchases; greater
confidence encourages higher bidding prices.

Piroplasma Testing Requirements
A Piroplasmosis Test is no longer a sale requirement
for yearlings sold at any of the Ruidoso Horse Sale
Company sales. NO horses (yearlings or broodmares)
coming to the sale are required to have the
proplasmosis test unless their point of origin is
one of the 6 Texas counties under quarantine. Have
your veterinarian check with the office of the state
veterinarian of New Mexico to ensure that the
animals have met all the current requirements and
that the hauler possesses all the necessary
documents to legally enter the state.
