Piroplasma Testing Requirements
A Piroplasmosis Test is no longer a sale requirement for yearlings sold at any of the Ruidoso Horse Sale Company sales. NO horses (yearlings or broodmares) coming to the sale are required to have the proplasmosis test unless their point of origin is one of the 6 Texas counties under quarantine. Have your veterinarian check with the office of the state veterinarian of New Mexico to ensure that the animals have met all the current requirements and that the hauler possesses all the necessary documents to legally enter the state.
