RUIDOSO SALES GRADUATES BRING HOME THE CASH

Ruidoso Downs, NM – April 20, 2010 - Ruidoso Select Quarter Horse Yearling Sale graduates vaulted to the top of the 2-year-old division with wins in the Grade 1, $596,041 Remington Park Futurity and the Grade 1, $302,339 West Texas Futurity last weekend.

The entry deadline for the 2010 Ruidoso Select Quarter Horse Yearling Sale is May 1.

The Remington Park and West Texas futurities are the two richest quarter horse races that have been contested in 2010.

Llano Teller, a $19,000 repurchase offered in the Ruidoso Select Quarter Horse Yearling Sale, took the Remington Park Futurity by a nose on Saturday night at Remington Park.

No Dice Special, a $25,000 Ruidoso Select Quarter Horse Yearling Sale purchase, scored a narrow victory in the West Texas Futurity for owner VWP Jr. Inc and trainer John Stinebaugh, who also saddled runner-up First Class Lacy B.

Llano Teller and No Dice Special are now prime prospects for the Ruidoso, Rainbow and All American futurities this summer at Ruidoso Downs. The All American Futurity is quarter horse racing's richest event and the 2011 running will award an all-time record first-place check of $1,200,000.

The Ruidoso Downs summer season starts on May 28 with daylong trials to the Ruidoso Futurity.

The 2010 Ruidoso Select Quarter Horse Yearling Sale will be held on September 3-5. The entry fee for yearlings nominated to the All American Triple Crown is $500 and $750 for yearlings not nominated to the three Grade 1 futurities - the $2.4 million (est.) All American All American Futurity, the $700,000 Rainbow Futurity and the $500,000 Ruidoso Futurity - is $750.
