To insure that all horses are properly checked in according to statutory requirements, the NM Livestock Board will have multiple Inspectors onsite during both sales checking animals for the required documents. All New Mexico animals are required to present Livestock Board Inspection NMLB Form 1 prior to Sale time. The Livestock inspectors will also be checking for current Coggins & Health Certificates. The Ruidoso Horse Sale Co. requires a current Coggins no older than six months and a Health Certificate dated no earlier than ten days prior to the Sale. These documents are to be turned in to the Sales Office immediately upon arrival and will be used by the NMLB in their inspection process.
All haulers must have in their possession a hauling permit before permitted to check out of the grounds. A NMLB Inspector will be available to fulfill this requirement.
